Quarantine Day 92: Visits to the doctor

Today, I took Ruth in the morning to a clinic to get a COVID test. She had been feeling under the weather and lives in a retirement community, so she got tested. Luckily, she was fine (found out a few days later). That was quite a process, though. The parking lot is the waiting room and you wait for them to call you on your cell phone to let you know it's your turn to come in. Only the patient is allowed in (unless you are bringing in a minor). There are only certain locations that do COVID testing or take anyone who is showing flu like symptoms. So, we had to drive to Bloomingdale. I was able to get a few errands done while she was having all the tests.

When I got home, Avery told me she had fallen off the swing. Apparently, they were doing tricks jumping out to the swing and her leg kick / double peace sign maneuver left her flat on the ground on her arm. After a few hours, it was still bothering her and she couldn't put any pressure on it. So, we decided to take her to the clinic for an x-ray. (Just as a reminder... a few years back Avery hurt her arm at daycare and we just figured it was a regular kid injury. But, five days later, we finally took her to a doctor and turns out it was a buckle fracture.  She had to wear a brace for a while. Parents of the year!) So, with that said, we no longer make assumptions about whether someone is ok. :) In this case, she ended up being fine... thank goodness! She just hyper-extended her arm, no break.
