Spring Break: Saturday

Saturday morning, we dropped Milo off at daycare and finished packing up our bags. We weighed our big bag that had the girls' and my stuff and it was over 50 lbs. We all took a few things out and thought it was ok. Spoiler... it was not. We had to move one thing to Matt's bag when we got to the airport. Our driver arrived right on time and we got to the airport with plenty of time. We made it through security super fast (thank you TSA pre-check!) Our gate was packed so we found another gate to hang out at for a bit. Morgan and Matt walked around the airport to kill time.

We boarded and were super happy to see that we had a brand new plane with individual touch screens in all the chairs.

They flight was pretty easy, although it was really long... over four hours! We had to a take a shuttle for awhile to get to the car rental place to pick up our car for the week. Then, we drove to the hotel. The airport is in downtown San Diego and our hotel was in Pacific Beach, which was about 15 minutes away. We stayed at Pacific Terrace Hotel.

Of course, as soon as we settled in, the girls wanted to go swimming! There was a heated pool and hot tub at the hotel. The pool was right on the boardwalk with an awesome view of the beach.

Even though it was chilly, the pool area was warm because of the heated pool and the plastic walls around it. The heat sort of stayed in and the sunshine felt nice!

We had a room on the second floor with a big balcony looking out over the ocean. It was gorgeous!

After swimming, we got cleaned up for dinner. It was pretty cloudy, so no cool sunsets this night.

We went to the Hideaway for dinner. They have an excellent pretzel... Morgan loved the cheese sauce they serve with it. The girls thought Dad's beer was hilarious!

Avery was super happy to find a very cheesy grilled cheese!

We were tired early from the traveling and we were trying to get used to the time change.
